My voice sounds hoarse

Printer-friendly version

I have had a hoarse voice for about 2 years now.

I have seen 2 ENT Dr and 1 said that it was vocal nodules and another said that it was due to acid reflux so I was on Nexium 40mg 2xdaily and then I saw a gastroenterologist who put a scope down my throat and took a biopsy and it came back normal

I have also seen an allergist and found that I have very mild allergies.

Here is the weird part. When ever I go east to places like Georgia, Florida and North Carolina my voice comes back.

I am at my wits end and I just want my voice back any help as to which direction I should go from here will be greatly appreciated

Dear Susan,

The only good diagnosis is an accurate diagnosis. If you did not improve on the treatments, most likely the issue is an imprecise or incorrect diagnosis. I list the physicians that I know around the world who have an emphasis on laryngology in their practice - http://old.voicedoctor.net/physicians . That would be a reasonable place to start.
