Tortuous Capillaries
Dilated capillaries are visible in the middle portion of this female's vocal cords. She is a vocal over doer. She has ruptured the normal capillaries and when they healed, they healed in a tortuous, dilated pattern. The most problematic capillaries of the ones on the edge of the right vocal cord. They are most visible during stroboscopy when the edge of the vocal cord everts. These capillaries tend to swell during vocal use and impair vibration and sound production.
