Mission StatementI strive to provide all patients with the highest quality voice care that the most discerning opera singer would expect. I try to be innovative and improve on the diagnosis and the surgeries available to treat voice disorders. I try to be prompt for appointments and to fully hear your story. How I got hereWhile both of my grandfathers watched the rise of the automobile as transportation culminate in a walk on the moon, I have watched punch card readers turn into the google/youtube version of the internet. Yet another technology and information explosion has occurred in the field of medicine. In 1985, I chose to specialize in the field of otolaryngology or ENT, (Ear, Nose & Throat Surgery). Later I began to notice that I couldn't keep up with all the advancements and decided to further subspecialize in laryngology - or just the throat part of ENT. This decision was made in spite of some mysterious, great push to mold specialists back into generalists during the 1990's. Walking to the beat of a different drummer, I set out on a course of study that brought me to the field of voice disorders, a very enjoyable medical subspeciality. ThoughtsPericles, according to Thucydides, proclaimed, “The freedom we enjoy in our government extends to our ordinary life. ... We throw open our city to the world, and never by alien acts exclude foreigners from any opportunity of learning or observing ...” I must say that other laryngologists have thrown their doors open to me for study and this web site is open to the world for comment. Do you wish to study or observe with me? If you think I should add a link to a particular site, please let me know. |
