Hemorrhagic vocal cord polyp
He woke up one day with a sudden change in his voice sounding like he had re-entered puberty. His voice continued to crack and break up. I noted a right hemorrhagic vocal cord polyp on the endoscopic examination.
Three months later his voice had improved on its own. On examination there was still a vocal cord hemorrhagic polyp in the same location although it was smaller. I suspect the original one fell off partially or completely and then the large feeding vessel that is visible coming from posteriorly along the edge of the vocal cord created another one or renewed the one that was there.
